WE ARE THE KENNEDY CENTER! We are a group of Kennedy Center audience members, donors, volunteers and concerned citizens who support the artistic institutions at the Kennedy Center: National Symphony,Washington National Opera. Dance Programs, Theater and JAZZ. We stand in solidarity with the musicians, artists, dancers, actors, arts administrators, and unions who make the Kennedy Center the nation’s premier performing arts center. Without them it would be an empty mid century modern box on the Potomac.
We sit in seats wearing PURPLE to show our support for musicians and artists while also voicing our protest against partisan Kennedy Center leadership. We believe our butts in seats and a chorus of protests are more resonant that a boycott.
